Extinguish your home fire and light a lamp for Modi
If you don't light lamps today, you might hear anything from an upset uncle to a mental rebel.
For the past 11 years, if nothing else, events have been spectacular in the country, and with Nitin Nabin becoming the new president of the BJP, it was time to start a new event. The tradition of lighting lamps on the Prime Minister's birthday has been initiated today with the launch of this new event.
However, to light a lamp, oil is needed, and according to the Government of India's report, the price of oil has continuously risen, crossing ₹200. There has been an increase of about 7 percent over the past year.
If you raise this question, some minister will come and say that an average family uses two liters of oil in a month, and with an increase of ₹13 per liter, the difference is only ₹26. This would be true if only the price of oil had increased, but the prices of sugar, potatoes, onions, and grains have also risen. A year ago, the idea of imposing a tax on UPI was dismissed as a rumor, but that has also been implemented.
So if ₹1 goes out of ₹100, it doesn't make much difference, but if it goes out fifty times one by one, then half of the ₹100 note remains. The inflation of oil, grains, vegetables, etc., gnaws away at the common man's income, and new ways of imposing taxes rob the remaining amount, causing pain, sir—this lamp is to alleviate that pain.
This is the benefit of the event. It is a cheap distraction. Indian families may drown in debt, but they become small landlords at weddings; even if they are going bankrupt, where is the fun in Diwali without fireworks? They may have to celebrate with loans, but Eid is still celebrated. While government/non-government events related to Hindus and Muslims continue throughout the year, there is a risk of monotony, so occasionally, events involving plates, lamps, etc., have to be organized.
Recently, there was also an event for BRICS, but it did not have the G-20 vibe. Rahul Gandhi made a jab about hugging on stage, which made Modi ji appear a bit hesitant, and instead of Trump and Meloni, there were seasoned world leaders like Putin and Jinping, who do not trust quick deals. Posters, banners, and billboards were put up in Delhi, but the atmosphere did not materialize.
On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi's Students' Echo event is not stopping. Halls are being canceled, stadium permissions are being denied. Next door, dance and music events are being organized, and two days prior, a youth dialogue is held. Modi ji himself is working overtime making Instagram videos, creating a V-shaped stage, recalling uncles and aunts, and so on, but the events are happening, and students are coming in large numbers.
The matter of "Bande Mataram" is also not settling. There have been many attempts. When Nitin Nabin descended to 'Miya Rahul', Congress members pounced, thankfully no one asked if Rahul is your Miya, then are you his wife? Secondly, it is a difficult song. It was not easy to remember half of it, so how can those who have sung 'Namaste Sada Vatsale' since childhood remember the entire "Bande Mataram"? When asked in a debate, they got tangled up, and when they tried to sing it incorrectly, they were mocked. Now, if 95% of the public does not remember it, who laughs, who cries, who sings? The law was made, but there was no uproar.
In the local body elections in Rajasthan, Modi ji announced a bumper victory, but the figures do not support that. His government, desired delimitation, and still such results!
On the other hand, in ten years, the habits of Paytm and Google Pay have become such that when the issue of tax arose, it reached every household. Rahul Gandhi is saying that this happened under American pressure and is demanding its withdrawal, which seems correct to the public.
The arguments that the government presented were all debunked by Ashneer Grover. Now, Grover is not an ordinary person; he is the ex-MD of BharatPe. He exposed the truth and added that if Subhash Chandra's ₹22,000 crore had not been waived, UPI would have remained free for twenty years. Now, if you add Adani, Ambani, and all, it could have remained free for two to four hundred years.
On the other hand, maintaining a friendship like Trump reminds one of Amitabh Bachchan from Sholay. Today's Bachchan is so busy counting tweet numbers that he himself does not remember anything. The Ministry of External Affairs has responded to the 100 percent tariff, but the situation will only get more complicated. Today, India has also been placed among drug trafficking countries with Pakistan! Such a birthday gift is not even given by an enemy as a friend has done.
Meanwhile, floods have hit Bihar. The government has three to four engines, but the train is not moving forward. Villages and cities are submerged, and people are crying out for help. The opposition is asking questions: how can we light a lamp in water, sir? If a lamp can be lit in the ongoing turmoil in Manipur for four years, why not in Bihar!
Now, with so much spectacle going on, a big spectacle is needed—light the lamp. Although in Hindu tradition, lamps are not lit for living people, if you do not light lamps today, anything can be said, from an annoyed uncle to a mental naxal.
