Amit Shah invokes Gandhi while practicing falsehoods

Amit Shah claims India's reconstruction follows Gandhi's path under Modi's rule. How big is this falsehood?

On Thursday, a convocation ceremony was held at Gujarat Vidyapith in Ahmedabad, a university established by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920. Typically, its foundation day is celebrated on October 18. However, this tradition has been discontinued since Gujarat Vidyapith came under the control of the Sangh. About four years ago, the BJP took over Gujarat Vidyapith when the Governor of Gujarat was appointed as the Chancellor.

This time, Amit Shah was invited as the chief guest at the convocation ceremony. Amit Shah addressed the students and mentioned some things in the name of Mahatma Gandhi. Surprisingly, students received awards and certificates from Amit Shah's hands, as seen in a photo published in the well-known Ahmedabad newspaper 'Gujarat Samachar'. Traditionally, the Chancellor has always conferred degrees and awards to students at Gujarat Vidyapith.

Currently, the Chancellor of Vidyapith is the Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat. Instead of him, Amit Shah is seen awarding a student in the photo, indicating that Amit Shah has taken over the role of the Chancellor.

The 'Gujarat Samachar' newspaper report also mentioned that a red carpet was laid out for Amit Shah's welcome at the convocation ceremony, and a significant amount was spent on the decoration of the Vidyapith. Mahatma Gandhi's simplicity no longer holds any significance at Gujarat Vidyapith. The three principles of Sarvodaya that Gandhi wrote in his autobiography 'The Story of My Experiments with Truth' after reading John Ruskin's book 'Unto This Last' include the third principle of simplicity. It seems neither the Chancellor nor the Vice-Chancellor has read this.

While mentioning Mahatma Gandhi, Amit Shah spoke about Gandhi's views on conversion but did not mention what Gandhi thought about democracy. How could he? And yes, Amit Shah cannot refrain from mentioning Narendra Modi! He also claimed that India's reconstruction is now happening in Gandhi's way under Narendra Modi's rule! What a great experiment with untruth this is.

The main question is, does any student or teacher at Gujarat Vidyapith have the courage to ask Amit Shah, "Who ordered the baton charge, tear gas, and pellet guns on students at Jantar Mantar in Delhi?" How could anyone ask? If someone did, they would immediately be shown the way out of the Vidyapith.

Everyone knows under which ministry the Delhi Police and Rapid Action Force operate. Whose orders does the Delhi Police follow?

But now, in Gandhi's country, very few people have the courage to stand with the truth. Students still have the spirit to save democracy. There is hope only from the students.

Mahatma Gandhi said,

If we are not ready to listen to the other side, the development of democracy is impossible.

Do the students of Vidyapith want democracy, do the teachers there know what democracy is? Have they read Gandhi? If they have, why don't they speak? The atmosphere of fear prevailing in the entire country is even more intense at Gujarat Vidyapith, there is no doubt about it. Everyone there is busy chanting the names of RSS and Narendra Modi in the name of Gandhi. No one is concerned with the truth or has the courage to speak against the injustice happening in the country.

They do not even know that if Mahatma Gandhi had not been there, perhaps there would be no democracy in this great country of India.

Gandhi said,

There is no path to freedom, freedom itself is the path. Democracy is not a system where people behave like sheep.
