Why 6-year-old Aditya is asking Bihar CM to resign
Even children are now demanding answers from the government, but instead of listening, the government is using force on them.
Even children are now demanding answers from the government. However, instead of listening, the government has started using force against children as well. Six-year-old Aditya Kumar drew everyone's attention during a student protest in Patna on August 25. When Aditya took the microphone and spoke about unemployment, the government, and police action against protesters, the police forcibly took him by the hand and placed him in a van. Although this cannot be termed as an arrest or detention, force was certainly used on the child.
A video of six-year-old Aditya Kumar went viral on social media, showing the child addressing the crowd. However, the video does not independently verify the full circumstances behind his statements. In the viral video, the six-year-old is seen arriving at the protest site with a poster, demanding the government's resignation. During the protest, police officers present at the scene were also seen taking the child with them.
According to a report by Prabhat Khabar, Aditya, who is said to be a first-grade student, participated in the protest with his parents, along with BPSC TRE-4 candidates, students, and other job-seeking youths. At one point during the protest, he was seen on top of a bus holding the tricolour, as a large number of protesters gathered at Dak Bungalow Chauraha. The protest was held to demand employment and address other issues.
In the video, Aditya says,
"Because of the government, students have become unemployed, and the Chief Minister should resign." When asked why he joined the protest, he said, "Corrupt people have come to overthrow the government."
When asked if he was scared, the child said,
he was not afraid. He said the country's future has been ruined, and the same could happen to him. That's why he forced his parents to join the protest. He also mentioned police action during the protests, saying that not just one person's head was injured, but "the head of the country's future was injured."
During the protest, Aditya also made a comment about the police. He said,
"The day the government changes, you will have to manage your uniforms." Following this, according to reports, the police took Aditya and his mother away in a car. The identity of the woman seen with the child in the viral video could not be independently verified.
BPSC TRE-4 candidates, students, and other job-seeking youths had gathered near Gandhi Maidan in Patna to demand employment-related issues. They attempted to march towards the Chief Minister's residence. The protesters were also demanding a meeting with the Chief Minister. To stop the march, the police barricaded near JP Golambar. Allegedly, there was a clash between the protesters and the police over the barricading. Subsequently, the protesters broke the barricades and reached Dak Bungalow Chauraha, where the police detained several students. Reports also indicate the use of water cannons and lathi-charge to control the crowd. Some students and police personnel were reportedly injured during this time.
During the protest, the police were taking some detained students in a bus. Many protesters stood in front of the bus, while some climbed onto the roof of the bus with the tricolour and started shouting slogans. During this time, Aditya also reached the roof of the bus with the national flag. His presence and the statements he made during the protest became a topic of discussion on social media. However, the viral video does not independently verify all claims related to the protest, nor does it reveal the complete sequence of events.
According to reports, this is not the first time Aditya has been seen at a protest. It is said that he also participated in Tejashwi Yadav's Lok Bhavan march regarding the paper leak case and the AK-47 case in Siwan. Additionally, he met students on hunger strike at Gardanibagh. At that time, he identified himself as a student, saying that he might face similar problems in the future. On that occasion, he also demanded the resignation of Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari. The ongoing widespread protest in Patna is focused on employment and other demands of students and job-seeking youths. The protesters are demanding government intervention and a meeting with the Chief Minister.
