Typhoon Bavi claims 15 lives in the Philippines

Due to one of the powerful storms, Bavi, around 15 people have died in landslides in the Philippines. Meanwhile, several parts of East Asia are preparing for the next impact of this storm. The typhoon Bavi, which is about 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) wide and spans almost as wide as France at its broadest point, is moving over the Pacific Ocean towards Taiwan.

In view of the dangers posed by 'Bavi', the government in Taiwan has relocated more than 14,000 people, primarily from mountainous areas, to safer locations. Typhoon Bavi is moving northwards, prompting precautionary measures.

According to news agency Reuters, Japanese officials had warned people to remain alert for floods and landslides due to 'Bavi'. Bavi made landfall on Saturday with heavy rain and strong winds in Japan's southern Sakishima Islands before moving towards Taiwan.
