Independent Bhardwaj threatens again in new viral video
Independent Bhardwaj is seen issuing threats once more in a viral video.
A video is going viral on social media, in which Swatantra Bhardwaj is seen threatening those who harass his companions with serious consequences. It is noteworthy that Swatantra Bhardwaj was arrested after claiming to have “broken the head” of a minor Dalit girl's father during a protest led by the Cockroach People's Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Recently, a Delhi court granted him interim bail.
The Telegraph reported that,
In the video, a person resembling Swatantra Bhardwaj is seen discussing an attempted attack on a vehicle outside a police station. He refers to those involved as “our brothers” and appears to talk about taking revenge on those responsible for the attack.
In the video, he says,
“Whoever surrounds their vehicle, we will not do anything to you... you are neither worthy of me nor at my level.”
He then mentions Chandrashekhar Azad, the leader of the Azad Samaj Party and MP from Nagina, saying, “Go and deliver the message to Chandrashekhar Azad Ravana.”
Further in the video, he states,
“For those who have been attacked, there is a Brahmin lion, his name is Swatantra Bhardwaj. Come and confront.”
The Telegraph has not independently verified the identities of the individuals appearing in the video or the time and place of the recording. However, at first glance, the video does not appear to be AI-generated.
This video has surfaced at a time when a Delhi court granted Bhardwaj three weeks of interim bail in connection with a case related to an attack on student activist Sanjay Kumar during the protest at Jantar Mantar. Additional Sessions Judge Saurabh Pratap Singh Laler of the Patiala House Court imposed several restrictions on Bhardwaj while granting bail on September 15.
The court had prohibited Swatantra from making or sharing any statement, comment, video, podcast, interview, reel, or post related to the case on any public platform, including social media, electronic or print media.
The court also restricted him from speaking to the media about the case and contacting the complainant, her daughter, or any witness for the prosecution.
The court stated that,
“Bhardwaj's conduct during the three weeks of interim bail will be taken into account when considering his regular bail application. The next hearing in the case will be on October 6.”
While granting bail, the court remarked,
“Whatever needs to be determined regarding the incident of June 23, 2026, will be decided in court based on evidence, not publicly or on social media.”
The court also directed the investigating officer to file a report by October 6 to inform whether Bhardwaj violated any condition of his bail.
Swatantra Bhardwaj was arrested earlier this month after a video podcast surfaced. In the podcast, he allegedly claimed to have “broken the head” of Sanjay Kumar, who was involved in the Jantar Mantar protest. Subsequently, a case was registered against Bhardwaj under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and sections related to criminal intimidation. A separate case was also filed under the POCSO Act based on the complaint of the minor student activist.
Additional charges were filed against him after pressure from the Cockroach People's Party and Congress on the Delhi Police. The Supreme Court expressed concern last week over allegations of harassment and intimidation against the minor student and her family. The court stated that such allegations “cannot be taken lightly” and ordered the provision of security to the student and her family.
Following this, the student claimed on social media that she is still being threatened. She also mentioned that despite the board exams approaching, she is unable to attend school and tuition.
