Protests shift from CJP to common Indians

People across the country are sending food to protesting students at Jantar Mantar via Swiggy and Zomato.

The protest at Jantar Mantar is no longer just a movement of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). It has now become a movement of ordinary Indians. After the police crackdown on protesting students during the Parliament march on June 20, the opposition found an opportunity to unite, and people across the country who still have a bit of empathy want to show their support for this movement. A new way of supporting the protest has emerged. People from different cities are sending food to the protesters via online food delivery apps. In recent days, artists have also started supporting this movement.

Several videos have gone viral on social media, showing Swiggy and Zomato delivery partners delivering food packets to Jantar Mantar. In one video, a Swiggy delivery partner states that the order was sent by a person living in Mumbai for the protesters. Meanwhile, another video shows a young man from Bihar delivering drinking water to the protest site.

Another viral video claims that food was sent via Zomato by a supporter from Maharashtra. Protesters say that people from cities like Delhi, Hyderabad, and Kolkata are continuously sending food for them.

These deliveries include pizza, burgers, biryani, thalis, and various other types of food. Protesters say this has become a symbol of people's support and solidarity.

This initiative is also being widely discussed on social media. One user wrote,

"Hope is still alive in India. May God bless those unknown people who are supporting the country's youth and students."

Another user wrote,

"Democracy may have weakened, but humanity is still alive."

Meanwhile, a third user said,

"It made my heart happy to see this. I feel proud of my generation."

Due to the continuous arrival of large quantities of food and essential items, volunteers are facing difficulties in managing and distributing them. Following this, CJP appealed to people on social media platform X to stop sending food for the time being.

In its post, CJP wrote, "Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for sending food for the protesters. We have received more food than needed. Please do not send more food for now. We will inform you if needed again."
