Finance Minister Sitharaman highlights benefits of paper leak

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman discusses the potential benefits of a paper leak amidst nationwide protests.

There is widespread anger among students and their parents across the country regarding the paper leak. Protests and demonstrations are taking place nationwide. Meanwhile, a minister from the Modi government is highlighting the benefits of the paper leak. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is pointing out the advantages of the paper leak. Her insensitive remarks have sparked a political controversy. Congress leader Supriya Shrinate has criticised her comments, accusing her of being insensitive towards students.

In an interview with news agency ANI, Sitharaman stated that although the paper leak initially affected those students who had worked hard for the exam, some candidates used the additional time before the re-examination to improve their preparation.

Sitharaman said,

"There are young people who are coming forward and saying, 'Yes, I felt bad initially when the paper leaked. But later, I took advantage of that time and prepared even better, which improved my performance.' So, there are young people who accepted this challenge and achieved remarkable success."

The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) criticised Sitharaman's remarks on the NEET paper leak issue, calling her "insensitive" towards students.

CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka reacted to her statement, saying that

some students benefited from the re-NEET and worked hard, "according to this logic, every exam paper in the country should be leaked."

Ranka questioned whether the government is "extolling the benefits of paper leaks" instead of taking responsibility for the failure of the examination system.
