Amidst the noise about hydrogen trains, have we forgotten the promises of the bullet train? Many Indians complain that this is what the government has been doing for the past 11 years. Just as we have forgotten about reducing petrol prices and bringing back black money from foreign banks, we might also forget the promises of the bullet train. This is what the Modi government seems to want. Meanwhile, a former Japanese minister has made serious allegations against the Indian government regarding the bullet train project.

Former Japanese minister Hideki Makihara wrote in a post on X,

The biggest reason for the delay in the bullet train project has been the attitude of the Indian government.

Makihara has been associated with the bullet train project. He has also claimed this. He said,

The Indian government has not fulfilled many promises made regarding the bullet train project. Agreements were made, and then the Indian government backed out. Until the last moment, the Indian government kept changing the terms according to its convenience. This is why the bullet train project could not progress.

In his post, Makihara also shared a report from Toyo Keizai Online, claiming that Japan was not included in the most crucial safety system (signalling system) of the bullet train.
