Rahul Gandhi hails student victory, demands PM Modi's apology

After the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, termed the student movement as a victory for democracy. In his message released on social media platform X on Saturday, Rahul Gandhi congratulated the students and youth who agitated for reforms in the education system.

Rahul Gandhi stated that the resignation of the Education Minister is an important step towards reforming the country's education system. He said that the students and youth who took to the streets fought not only for their future but also for the protection of democracy and the Constitution. Praising the youth involved in the movement, he expressed pride in them.

On this occasion, Rahul Gandhi also launched a sharp attack on the government. He alleged that the current government is weakening the Constitution and democratic institutions. Appealing to farmers, workers, the poor, and other sections to raise their voices against injustice, he said that fighting democratically instead of being afraid is the right path.

Additionally, Rahul Gandhi mentioned that two key demands related to the student movement are still unmet. First, strict action should be taken against the police officers who acted against the protesting students during the Parliament march on July 20. Second, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should publicly apologize to the students who faced misconduct and violence during the protest.

In the conclusion of his message, Rahul Gandhi said that in respect of the country's students and the future of India, the Prime Minister should apologize. He urged all the youth to remain united in defending democratic values.
