Yastika Bhatia makes history at Lord's with unique feat

Indian women's cricket team wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia made history at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground in London on Sunday. Yastika became the first woman cricketer in the world to score a Test century at Lord's during the third day of the only Test match against England.

Born in Baroda, Gujarat, this player showcased patience, determination, and excellent stroke-play to complete her maiden international Test century in just 145 balls. She hit 12 splendid fours in this historic innings. Yastika's achievement is particularly special as she was recently battling a severe knee injury that had posed a threat to her career. Overcoming this life-threatening injury, Yastika made a remarkable and aggressive return to international cricket, reaching this milestone in the afternoon session.

No Pressure of Nervous Nineties

On the third day of the match, Yastika Bhatia was unbeaten on 91 runs at the lunch break. When play resumed after lunch, there was no sign of nervousness on her face despite being in the nervous nineties. She hit two consecutive brilliant fours off England's fast bowler Issy Wong in the backward point region and then took a single towards covers to complete her historic century. With this, she etched her name in golden letters on the prestigious honors board at Lord's, known as the Mecca of cricket.
